Lizzo: Cuz I Love You

Lizzo’s long awaited full-length debut LP and third studio album Cuz I Love You has arrived!

Lizzo’s “Jerome” is a fair-game, grown-ass break-up song. See why it’s a Song You Need to Know— Rolling Stone (@RollingStone) April 20, 2019

Congrats to Minneapolis’ own @lizzo for her #1 album #CuzILoveYou which includes a really good line:
“Woke up feeling like I just might run for president. Even if there ain’t no precedent.” 😄— Amy Klobuchar (@amyklobuchar) April 20, 2019

Lizzo kicked off her LP with “Juice,” her most popular track to date with close to 3x as many streams in the first week as any of her previous releases.

The greatest singing, rapping, twerking flautist the world has ever known – @Lizzo! 👑💘 #CuzILoveYou— Jimmy Kimmel Live (@JimmyKimmelLive) April 19, 2019

Entertainment Weekly hailed the single as “the latest (and poppiest yet) from the infectiously poised 30-year-old artist, whose ascent in the hip-hop scene has been as rousing to watch as her live performances…Let ‘Juice’ be your introduction to an uplifting up-and-comer.”

“From the first moments, it’s clear this will be a favorite and become the ‘juice’ that gets you through the year. Rolling out the track with an electric guitar reminiscent of Katy Perry’s ‘Teenage Dream,’ Lizzo continues to release next-level bangers, making us all impatient as we wait for her next album.”

“Great news everybody,” exclaimed British GQ. “We’re just four days into January and we’ve got the best song of the year, and it just won’t get topped.” Rolling Stone agreed, declaring, “Four days into the new year, Lizzo released the first great song of 2019.

The Minneapolis singer-rapper-flautist specializes in propulsive self-empowerment anthems — feel-good songs about feeling good about yourself — and ‘Juice’ may be her finest yet, a near-perfect retro-funk nugget that would have felt just right on a mirror-balled dance floor in 1982… If life were fair, (‘Juice’) would be as big as ‘Uptown Funk.’”

You’d be hard-pressed to find a bigger personality than @Lizzo. The #hiphop queen exudes confidence, humor and attitude, but she is just getting started: #CUZILOVEYOU— Recording Academy / GRAMMYs (@RecordingAcad) April 19, 2019

“Cuz I Love You” was released in time for Valentine’s Day and though it charted it has not lasted on the charts as long as  “Juice” has. Her third single features Missy Elliott “Tempo” debuted four weeks ago and she has not released an official video yet for this song. Wednesday, Lizzo released a new video for “Juice” with featuring RuPaul’s Drag Race Queens.

It does not matter if you are famous or just a music listener, Cuz I Love You is leaving an impact.

Didn’t even get through two songs of @lizzo’s #CuzILoveYou before I started crying. To hear a big girl love herself so unabashedly and completely with no struggle or strife beforehand… this was the album I never knew or would admit I needed. It genuinely means so much to me.— Kelsey Kennedy (@kelseyskennedy) April 19, 2019
